Controller

The Controller reports to the President and plays an active role on the Senior Management Team. We are seeking an experienced Controller to perform and streamline our accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting processes. Responsibilities include:

  • Perform all of AME’s accounting functions which include: accounts payable, invoicing, bank deposits, bank account management and reconciliation, project set up, payroll coordination, new employee onboarding, employee benefits administration, accounts receivable collections, expense report processing, journal entries, maintain the chart of accounts, ESOP accounting and management, monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants, 401(k) plan administration, backlog reporting, expense budgeting, and income projections.
  • Work with senior management to guide AME’s financial decisions and provide accurate financial data
  • Maintain company records in an orderly fashion
  • Prepare and issue timely internal financial statements
  • Coordinate activities of external auditors for annual financial review
  • Coordinate relationship with AME’s bank
  • Manage the budget process and report results to the senior management team
  • Develop and enforce a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
  • Support project managers with the financial management of their projects
  • Work closely with AME’s Office Manager to ensure the financial integrity of AME’s projects.
  • Assist the business development team with the financial data required for project proposals and RFQ’s.
  • Lead the financial due diligence portion of potential acquisition opportunities

Required Experience:

  • BS in Accounting or Business Administration, or equivalent business experience
  • 5plus years of progressively responsible experience
  • Preference will be given to candidates with professional services industry experience, particularly with architecture and engineering firms.
  • Knowledge of ESOP accounting is a plus
  • Government contract accounting experience is preferred
  • Experience with acquisitions is a plus

Technology Designer

This position provides technical and design services in support of electrical design projects to produce construction drawings and specifications for our clients. Responsibilities include:

  • Perform complex analysis, calculations, design, evaluation and inspection for telecommunications, audio/visual, and electronic security systems to support project needs.
  • Produce design documents (drawings, design narratives, and specifications)

Required Experience:

  • BS in Engineering preferred, but not required
  • RCDD certification preferred, but ability and willingness to achieve RCDD is required
  • 5plus years of experience in telecommunications and special systems design including structured cabling systems, electronic security systems, and audio-visual systems
  • Must be competent in Revit and AutoCAD

Plumbing Designer

This position provides plumbing design services to support production of construction drawings and specifications for our clients.  Responsibilities include:

  • Design of plumbing systems for large and small projects
  • Ability to interact and work directly with Architects and Owners
  • Prepare various reports and meeting minutes
  • Produce design documents (drawings, specifications, and reports)

Required Experience:

  • 5 plus years of experience in plumbing design including waste and vent systems, supply systems, roof drain calculations and design, equipment and fixture selection, Shop drawing review, assessment of existing systems and facilities, and field observation and reporting.
  • Familiarity with the International Plumbing Code and NFPA 13
  • Must be competent in REVIT and AutoCAD
  • Must be a US Citizen.

Mechanical Designer

This position provides mechanical design services to support production of construction drawings and specifications for our clients.  Responsibilities include:

  • Design of HVAC systems for large and small projects
  • Ability to interact and work directly with Architects and Owners
  • Prepare various reports and meeting minutes
  • Produce design documents (drawings, specifications, and reports)

Required Experience:

  • 5 plus years of experience in Mechanical Design including HVAC load calculations, air distribution systems design, equipment selection, Shop drawing review, assessment of existing systems and facilities, and Field observation and reporting.
  • Must be competent in REVIT and AutoCAD
  • Must be a US Citizen.

Senior Mechanical Engineer

This position provides mechanical engineering services to produce construction drawings and specifications for our clients.  Responsibilities include:

  • Leading the design effort on large and small projects
  • Manage design schedules and design team members
  • Ability to interact and work directly with Architects and Owners
  • Conduct preliminary evaluations
  • Prepare various reports and meeting minutes
  • Produce design documents (drawings, specifications, and reports)

Required Experience:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering (PE Registration preferred)
  • 10 plus years of experience in Mechanical Design including HVAC load calculations, Life Cycle Cost Analysis, air distribution design of VAV and CV systems, hydronic system design, equipment selection, Shop drawing review, assessment of existing systems and facilities, and field observation and reporting.
  • Extensive knowledge of the International Mechanical and Energy Conservation Codes
  • Must know REVIT and AutoCAD
  • Must be a US Citizen.

Electrical Designer

This position provides technical and design services in support of electrical design projects to produce construction drawings and specifications for our clients.  Responsibilities include:

  • Participating in the design effort on large and small projects.
  • Coordination with engineering and other disciplines on the project team.
  • Ability to provide calculations including lighting, voltage drop, and load calculations
  • Follow company standards in creation of electrical drawings.
  • Provide field support including field verifications for retrofit applications, as-built documentation, and Construction Administration.
  • From project scope, develop electrical construction drawings (i.e. exterior lighting, interior lighting, power plans, systems plans, fire alarm system plans, grounding systems, details, single lines/riser diagrams and panel schedules).
  • Willingness to travel for projects.

Required Experience:

  • High School diploma or Associates Degree with adequate drafting experience or a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology.
  • 5 plus years of experience in Electrical Design including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, grounding, coordination/arc flash studies
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code, Building Codes, and Energy Codes.
  • Experience in Federal/Municipal Government, Healthcare or Aviation preferred but not required.
  • Must know REVIT, AutoCAD, and Visual Lighting design software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and balance multiple projects.
  • Must be self-motivated and work independently to complete work assignments.
  • Must be a US Citizen and have a valid driver’s license.

  • Design review to assure adherence to applicable codes, company standards and project requirements

Required Experience:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering with PE Registration
  • 10 plus years of experience in Electrical Design including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, grounding, coordination/arc flash studies
  • Extensive knowledge of the National Electrical Code
