Associate Director of Electrical Engineering

This position provides technical and design services in support of electrical design projects to produce construction drawings and specifications for our clients. This position will be to directly assist the Director of Electrical Engineer with job growth potential to be elevated to the Director of Electrical Engineering in the very near future. Responsibilities include:

  • Leading the design effort on large and small projects
  • Managing design schedules and design team members
  • Being able to interact and work directly with Architects and Owners
  • Evaluation, selection, and application of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to assigned projects
  • Mentoring senior and junior-level staff
  • Leading the preparation of various written reports and meeting minutes
  • Producing and leading the creation of design documents (drawings and specifications)
  • Willingness to travel for projects nationally and internationally
  • Providing Quality Control (QC) to assure adherence to applicable codes, company standards, and project requirements
  • Serving as a technical consultant concerning planning, design, and construction for different categories of facilities
  • Providing assistance in the determination of departmental resources and long-term planning
  • Delegation of tasks and responsibilities
  • Serving as the individual in responsible charge of projects (DOR)

Required Experience:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering with PE Registration and the ability to be licensed by comity in other states
  • 15 plus years of experience in Electrical Design including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, grounding, coordination/arc flash studies
  • Extensive knowledge of the National Electric Code
  • Strong knowledge of Building Codes, Applicable NFPA Codes, and Energy Codes
  • Experience in Federal/Municipal Government, Healthcare or Aviation are preferred but are not required
  • Must know REVIT and AutoCAD
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and balance multiple projects
  • Must be self-motivated and work independently to complete work assignments
  • Must be a US Citizen and have a valid driver’s license
  • LEED AP certification preferred

Plumbing Designer

This position provides plumbing design services to support production of construction drawings and specifications for our clients.  Responsibilities include:

  • Design of plumbing systems for large and small projects
  • Ability to interact and work directly with Architects and Owners
  • Prepare various reports and meeting minutes
  • Produce design documents (drawings, specifications, and reports)

Required Experience:

  • 5 plus years of experience in plumbing design including waste and vent systems, supply systems, roof drain calculations and design, equipment and fixture selection, Shop drawing review, assessment of existing systems and facilities, and field observation and reporting.
  • Familiarity with the International Plumbing Code and NFPA 13
  • Must be competent in REVIT and AutoCAD
  • Must be a US Citizen.

Mechanical Designer

This position provides mechanical design services to support production of construction drawings and specifications for our clients.  Responsibilities include:

  • Design of HVAC systems for large and small projects
  • Ability to interact and work directly with Architects and Owners
  • Prepare various reports and meeting minutes
  • Produce design documents (drawings, specifications, and reports)

Required Experience:

  • 5 plus years of experience in Mechanical Design including HVAC load calculations, air distribution systems design, equipment selection, Shop drawing review, assessment of existing systems and facilities, and Field observation and reporting.
  • Must be competent in REVIT and AutoCAD
  • Must be a US Citizen.

Senior Mechanical Engineer

This position provides mechanical engineering services to produce construction drawings and specifications for our clients.  Responsibilities include:

  • Leading the design effort on large and small projects
  • Manage design schedules and design team members
  • Ability to interact and work directly with Architects and Owners
  • Conduct preliminary evaluations
  • Prepare various reports and meeting minutes
  • Produce design documents (drawings, specifications, and reports)

Required Experience:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering (PE Registration preferred)
  • 10 plus years of experience in Mechanical Design including HVAC load calculations, Life Cycle Cost Analysis, air distribution design of VAV and CV systems, hydronic system design, equipment selection, Shop drawing review, assessment of existing systems and facilities, and field observation and reporting.
  • Extensive knowledge of the International Mechanical and Energy Conservation Codes
  • Must know REVIT and AutoCAD
  • Must be a US Citizen.

Electrical Designer

This position provides technical and design services in support of electrical design projects to produce construction drawings and specifications for our clients.  Responsibilities include:

  • Participating in the design effort on large and small projects.
  • Coordination with engineering and other disciplines on the project team.
  • Ability to provide calculations including lighting, voltage drop, and load calculations
  • Follow company standards in creation of electrical drawings.
  • Provide field support including field verifications for retrofit applications, as-built documentation, and Construction Administration.
  • From project scope, develop electrical construction drawings (i.e. exterior lighting, interior lighting, power plans, systems plans, fire alarm system plans, grounding systems, details, single lines/riser diagrams and panel schedules).
  • Willingness to travel for projects.

Required Experience:

  • High School diploma or Associates Degree with adequate drafting experience or a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology.
  • 5 plus years of experience in Electrical Design including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, grounding, coordination/arc flash studies
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code, Building Codes, and Energy Codes.
  • Experience in Federal/Municipal Government, Healthcare or Aviation preferred but not required.
  • Must know REVIT, AutoCAD, and Visual Lighting design software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and balance multiple projects.
  • Must be self-motivated and work independently to complete work assignments.
  • Must be a US Citizen and have a valid driver’s license.
